I went on Maternity Leave having been with the company since Nov 06 in Nov 07, having found out I was pregnant in March 07, we took on my colleague to look after the clients I had built up and grow the area.
I had been with the company two years and my colleague one year. Hence, the company is forced to take such harsh decisions across departments and come up with a list of projects that are not strategic for the company from a long-term perspective.
I understand that our company is going through tough times and the market conditions and outlook is not looking to improve for the next two to three years or so. I will face severe financial problems when I lose my job as my children and my wife who is also unemployed will face the wrath of this situation.
Everything I have read seems to say that as an employer you should be compassionate and have respect for the person that you have eventually had no option other than to make redundant.
